Emergency Response/Debris Management Registration
Subcontractors are required to carry insurance in strict accordance with the subcontract documents. If you cannot meet these minimum requirements, your ability to be a first tier subcontractor will be greatly limited. The requirements are as follows:
Each Occurrence – $2,000,000 Aggregate – $2,000,000
$2,000,000 Per Occurrence
• Any Auto OR Scheduled/Hired/Non-Owned must be covered
Must be statutory to the state in which work is being performed. If your company uses a leasing company for your Workers’ Compensation insurance, it is a requirement that the leasing company grant an alternate employer endorsement for your firm.
Employer’s Liability:
*Please note the excess umbrella liability coverage can flow up to meet the requirements for general liability coverage or auto coverage.
P&J will be listed as an additional insured on general liability, auto, and excess liability policies on a primary and non-contributory basis. Waiver of subrogation will apply to ALL policies. Additional insured and waiver of subrogation endorsements must be submitted to Contractor.
Subcontractors interested in working for P&J, that meet the minimum insurance requirements, are encouraged to submit a Subcontractor Registration Form, which is used to document contact information, socioeconomic status, criminal history, financial and safety performance, and other related information. After your registration form has been received, it will be reviewed and your company will be contacted if your services are needed.
Do not submit more than one assessment checklist/registration form for your company.

California Tree Removal Subcontractor Registration
Subcontractors are required to carry insurance in strict accordance with the subcontract documents. If you cannot meet these minimum requirements, your ability to be a subcontractor will be greatly limited. The requirements are as follows:

Any Auto OR Scheduled/Hired/Non-Owned must be covered.
Coverage limits may be satisfied using an excess umbrella liability policy of $2 million auto and $1 million excess liability, or $1 million auto and $2 million excess umbrella.
Must be statutory to the state in which work is being performed.
Owners and executive officers MUST be covered by the WC policy.
Workers Compensation can be through the CA State Fund. If not, the insurance company rating must be at least 3A.
The policy must contain a logger’s broad form endorsement, including coverage for fire suppression expenses, property damage to timberlands in the subcontractor’s care, custody, or control, and property damage from loading and unloading non-owned autos. There shall be no exclusions for logging/lumbering operations, subsidence, cross liability, third party action over claims, or employee injury or work from heights. The “your work” exclusion must accept damage done by work performed by a subcontractor of the subcontractor.
Tree pruning, Tree & Brush Removal, and Reliability Tree Pruning must be on the certificate.
Phillips and Jordan, Incorporated and Pacific Gas and Electric Company, its directors, officers, agents, and employees will be listed as an additional insured on General Liability, Auto Liability, and Excess Liability policies on a primary and noncontributory basis. Waiver of Subrogation will apply to ALL policies.
If the policy includes “blanket endorsement by contract”, then the following language must be added: Phillips and Jordan, Incorporated and Pacific Gas and Electric Company, its directors, officers, agents, and employees are added as additional insured on General Liability, Excess Liability, and Auto Liability under a blanket endorsement.
