Project Description

A major utility’s new Banks Crossing Substation was constructed to improve power supply services to increase needs in Commerce, Georgia.

direct embed poles - 6’ dia. x 22’ deep embedment holes (110’-tall poles, 60,000 lbs each)

P&J was contracted to install a 4pole 230kV and 16-pole 115kV dead end structure consisting of 20 drilled shafts of multiple sizes, 110’ directembed poles, and associated hardware. The pre-cast, concrete poles were 110’ long and weighed 60,000 lbs. P&J developed and enacted a comprehensive work plan to safely erect these directembed structures and complete all hardware framing after installation.
