On August 22nd we communicated an incentive program for employees to stand up and become vaccinated to stop the spread of the COVID-19. P&J’s goal is to be 100% vaccinated, and we sincerely hope you can join us in proactively taking measures to protect our team and our community.
- For those who fully vaccinate or who are already fully vaccinated, you can send an image of your vaccination card to hr@phillipsih.com to receive a $100 gift card as an incentive.
- An “I’m Vaccinated” hard hat sticker will be available for those that would like it.
- If you are willing to get vaccinated but have not yet done so, please get your initial shot as soon as possible if you intend to receive the incentive. If you need assistance, please get in touch with Lauren Ellis for scheduling assistance.
- Even if you do not want the incentive, please send a copy of your vaccination card to HR.
- If you want to defer your incentive to a fellow coworker or family member who is suffering from COVID in the hospital, please let HR know and they will defer the incentive to them in your name.
- Employees will get a paid day off immediately following their second vaccination (if the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, after the single dose), in the event you are experiencing symptoms.
- If, after your vaccination, you experience short-term side effects that affect your ability to do daily activities, you will not be penalized. Side effects are typically mild, are normal signs that your body is building protection against the virus and go away within a day or so. If you experience any side effects from the vaccine, report these to your Supervisor, who will notify our Corporate Medical Director. You can always contact our Corporate Medical Director discreetly to discuss any issues that may arise.
Over the last few months, we have seen a marked increase in COVID-19 cases throughout our organization, the overwhelming majority of which have affected unvaccinated employees. We recognize that vaccination is a personal choice, but as a People First company, we will continue to encourage the P&J team to get vaccinated by sharing relevant information to help you make choices. While the conversation on social media has been unfortunately polarizing, the dialogue at P&J will be civilized, respectful, and compassionate — zero exceptions.
We will continue to take important measures as a company to protect our team in this difficult time, including daily wellness checks, access to testing, contact tracing, consultation with medical professionals, and access to good information. The vaccine represents another tool, a form of “PPE” available to us to keep our team healthy.
If you have any questions about the vaccination incentive policy, please reach out to hr@phillipsih.com.
