This project involved grading for a 5.3-acre substation pad expansion for the Jackson’s Ferry 765kV Substation located in Wytheville, Virginia. Total site disturbance of 24.47 acres was required for the installation of three (3) storm retention ponds and relocation of the station’s access road.
P&J performed erosion control installation and maintenance, site grading, storm water installation, and final stabilization. Soil material had to be cut from underneath the existing 765kV conductor. P&J developed a comprehensive, site-specific safety plan to eliminate the possibility of incidents while working under the conductor.
