Have you heard about SambaSafety for MVRs?

As part of our 2022 safety initiatives, we have implemented a new motor vehicle record (MVR) management system for our company-approved drivers. If you are approved to drive a company-issued vehicle, a rental, or your personal vehicle on company time (this does not include daily commutes to and from an office), you are required to not only have an initial MVR meeting our minimum acceptable standards, but this new system will now monitor changes to your MVR in real-time. SambaSafety will notify corporate Safety of new driving violations, such as speeding tickets, accidents, suspended licenses, or DUIs.

As a reminder, our minimally acceptable MVR criteria pulled for the past three years for all new hires permitted to operate a company-owned, leased, or personal vehicle for company business.

  • No major violations
  • Maximum of 3 moving violations
  • Maximum of 1 at-fault motor vehicle accident combined with up to 2 moving violations.

The following major violations will result in denial of driving privileges for all new hires:

  • Leaving the scene of an accident.
  • Reckless driving.
  • Speeding in excess of 25 mph over the posted speed limit.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Driving while license is suspended or revoked.
  • Committing a misdemeanor within the previous 24 months resulting in driver’s license revocation or a felony at any time resulting in driver’s license revocation.

With real-time monitoring, any future violations on your license, including those incurred on personal time in your personal vehicle, will be taken into account as they occur.
